This performance is to be put in the active of the spirit of innovation and the determination of one impassioned of the harbor thing, Mr Hilaire Marcel LAMIZANA, Managing director of the Port authority of San Pedro.

In only eight month of presence (from April in December 2011) to the head of the second lung of the economy of the Ivory Coast, LAMIZANA knew, with method and rigor remobiliser its men and to inculcate to them his faith and its determination in the advent of a port of conquering San Pedro and which counts.

Results obtained at the end of the year 2011, after only eight month of effective activity, April in December 2011

Are encouraging as well on the level of financial management as on the level of the performances of traffics carried out.

The Port authority of San Pedro found financial balance with convincing indicators of financial management.

The traffics carried out are as for them in clear progression thus illustrating the effectiveness of the measurements taken for the optimization of the harbor exploitation and the diversification of the products forwarding by the port of San Pedro.

It is the first time since the startup of the port of San Pedro, which a level of total traffic of goods of a million eight hundred and thousand (1 800 000) tons is reached.

This traffic naturally, has to develop with the establishment in San Pedro of new economic operators in particular, company WABCO, importer of products of manure, maritime operator DELMAS and especially with the reinforcement of the activity of MSC on the container terminal.

Appear in pole position the implementation of the projects registered in the partnership agreement with the Wearing of Antwerp. Those should also contribute significantly to the increase in the traffic in 2012.

The Harbor authority also proceeded, in 2011, with the revival of the whole of the preparatory activities to the implementation of the great projects of development to short and long terms.

It is particularly about the starting of the study of the information system strategic plan of the port of San Pedro for the twenty-five next years, of the revival of the feasibility studies of the project of extension of the port of San Pedro and its road connections to Mali, Guinea and Liberia. Re-mobilization of the principal backers which expressed their interest for the various structuring projects.

Convincing results were obtained in 2011 and of the major challenges, the DG recognizes, remain to be raised in 2012 for the transformation of the harbor place of San Pedro into a pole of economic development integrated into a zone of more widened influence.

For 2012, Hilaire LAMIZANA at the time of an address recommends to the personnel of the PASP, it will be necessary to insufflate a new dash, a qualitative dash with the economic life and social of the harbor place of San Pedro and its national and regional hinterland to make of it “a true harbor complex integrated perfectly into its national hinterland and under regional, with great development appropriatenesses of industrial activities and logistic and modern terminals operated within the framework of a Private Public Partnership”.

 

Because he says, the PASP has of enormous assets and potential to exploit.

For the year 2012, the objective is clear. The PASP must arrive mainly at the realization of the following results: 

  • a total traffic of goods of five (05) million tons;
  • a Turnover of almost six (06) billion FCFA;
  • a profit bottom line of 10% of the turnover;

Of course support Hilaire LAMIZANA, the realization of such objectives implies that the managerial action of the year 2012 is reinforced around strategic axes which it identifies in four (04) principal points namely:

  1. strategy and management;
  2. the commercial action and financial management;
  3. the rehabilitation and the maintenance of the infrastructures and equipment;
  4. the implementation of the development projects.
